Back to School: Week 1

A few mornings ago, I was woken up around 3 a.m. to the sound of my power shutting off. Twice. I believe the first time was near 4 a.m., and the second around 5. That day started the third day of classes, and I hope that it was not a sign about how this semester is going to play out...

On the bright side, it is great to be back on campus, not that I don't love being home, it's just impossible to do school work while lying in a comfy bed, and thinking about all the other things I could be doing, rather than sitting at a desk, provided by the university, thinking about all of the things I'm probably forgetting to do. Being on campus gives me an excuse to forget all of my responsibilities at home and force myself to focus on myself and my schoolwork.

Perks of going to a small school, especially in a pandemic, is that we do get to be on campus and attend face-to-face classes, unlike many large universities. I could not even imagine trying to complete a degree totally online. I have a few friends from high school that go to The Ohio State University, and The University of Cincinnati, and their classes are 100% online. Knowing myself, that type of learning would not work for me. It's times like these that make me feel extremely grateful for choosing ONU, despite the power going out in the first week :).

  1. I agree, it's so nice to be able to be on campus even with the restrictions! Those power outages were rough, but at least it seems like they were able to fix everything. I would hate to come back just to have to leave again for reasons besides the pandemic!

  2. First off, I hope that your semester is going better than what the first couple of days did! I completely agree that going to a smaller school like Ohio Northern has been a perk so we could go to class in person, it has been very nice. Hopefully we are able to finish this semester in person as well!

  3. That's a rough start to the semester, hopefully the rest of the semester has been going well! I agree that environment has a huge impact on productivity levels.
