Feeding the Content Monster

Prior to reading chapters 1 and 2 of The Art of Social Media, I was nervous about the aspect of content creation. Attempting to feed the content monster multiple times a week seems like a daunting task, especially if you try and produce multiple pieces of content yourself every week.

This chapter enlightened me on the idea that feeding the content monster doesn't have to solely come from self-content, it can come from sharing the content of others. Learning this makes the task of posting often much less worrying. Instead of focusing on making content all by yourself, you can also share the content of others, helping the other creator, and yourself!

Along with content creation, maintaining your image across all platforms is very important. Even only 2 chapters into this book, I have already learned so much. One thing that I realized was a problem with my accounts is that almost all of my profile photos are different, which makes it very hard to maintain consistency. On the other hand, one thing that I am doing well is that all of my profiles have the same username. Having a unique name (spelling wise) has helped me maintain that consistency across my social media platforms that is so instrumental in having people remember who I am (thanks Mom).

  1. When I first got into content creation I was also nervous and felt overwhelmed. Eventually I learned about content batching which helps streamline the process of content creation and makes life so much easier! I love the idea of sharing others' content too, it's definitely a great feeling when you can elevate someone else's message or cause through your own platform. Also, I completely agree about the importance of maintaining your image across all platforms, consistent branding is so important!
