How To: Have Fun With Friends Without Leaving Your Home
Here are three places to host a game night with your friends.
"All bad cards" is a site where you can host an online version of All Bad Cards (which is basically Cards Against Humanity) and To Meme or Not to Meme. There are options to make a private game with friends or join a public game.
Backyard
"Backyard" is a place where video calling and game night mix. You can play a large selection of games while on a video call. Some game options include "Doodle" (like Pictionary), mafia, crosswords and many more. There are also options to watch videos with friends simultaneously with the “Watch YouTube” option.
Jackbox Games
"Jackbox" has an array of paid party pack options. One of the
games that I have personally played before is "Quiplash", which is a game much like
Cards Against Humanity. In my experience, this particular game was great for a large group to play together.
With those three options in mind, I hope you are able to stay connected while also staying safe.
This sounds super fun! I am in a long distance relationship and being at school really makes me miss hanging out with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend. The four of us play games together all the time and I think these would be super fun and helpful in order for us to all keep having fun together even from a distance. I will definitely be sending them these suggestions in our group chat! Thanks for the ideas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these! Although it's important for people to socially distance during COVID, it gets difficult when you're not able to see friends and family. I think it's important to have options where you can have the best of both worlds. In the past, my friends and I have played Cards Against Humanity, but I had no idea there were virtual online versions. These were some really good options and I'll be sure to keep them in mind!
ReplyDeleteThese are so interesting! I have not gotten to host or participate in something like this, and I often feel like I missed a quintessential quarantine phase. I have never heard of the first two you suggested, but I always loved playing Jackbox Games with my friends long before quarantine rolled around. I think that is the same site that has the game where you design funny and virtual shirts?
ReplyDeleteThese are great options! it's always frustrating when you want to play a game virtually with friends but there isn't a good option for chatting. Half the fun is hearing people react to the games! I'm glad companies are starting to catch on to the more social aspect of online games, which is especially needed with the current pandemic.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I always am put in charge on game night for my family and you have just helped me out tremendously! Especially during the time we are in it will make the game night process much easier and more entertaining! Thanks again for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of these, so thank you for sharing! It is important to stay connected with friends during these times, and this makes it easy! My family and I love to play games together, but have been unable to with me being back in my dorm room and them being two hours away. I'll have to tell my family about these and start playing as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! I am currently having to take this semester online due to health concerns with COVID-19. I miss my friends so much and this will be a great way to still have fun and have a game night with them.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome, and I have never heard of them. Especially now, my friends don't like to hang out together as much as they would rather stay in their rooms, so this is a great opportunity for us to still connect while in our rooms. Thank you for these tips.
ReplyDeleteThese are great recommendations! I would absolutely love to implement this into my long-distance friend groups, this is such a great way to stay connected even though we're apart. I've found that Netflix Party (Now Teleparty) is another great way to connect from a distance, it allows you to watch movies and shows with others at the same time from different locations.
