Podcast: Social Media and Mental Health

Yes, you read that right. My blog has a podcast episode out now! In this episode that you can find here, I chat about a study from the journal "Computers in Homan Behavior" that looked at the intersection of social media usage and mental health. I answer questions about who and where this study originated from, as well as the variables explored and the goals of the study. I also of course, tell you the findings and what they mean. Finally, I tell you why I believe studies like these are so important- especially in the world we live in today.

I think talking about a study like this was relevant for me especially because I am a psychology major and marketing minor, who also uses social media daily, so it's important to me to know the impacts it can have.

I hope you enjoy my first ever podcast episode!

  1. Congratulations on your first podcast post! The topic you covered was super interesting. I've always thought that social media presents a huge issue when it comes to mental health and self-esteem, especially in younger generations. So, to learn that there are studies that reinforce the idea that social media has such a large impact on self-esteem is really interesting.
