Capstone Presentation Follow-up

On Monday, I presented the journal article I chose last week to my capstone class. It went very well! I'm glad that I chose the article that I did, not only was it fun and easy for me to talk about, my classmates also seemed to enjoy it.

The conversations we had flowed nicely and the questions asked were insightful and sparked many other questions. The 15 minute time requirement seemed to fly by (thank goodness). I had a question that connects this story to social media. The question was "do you think that the evolution of social media has changed the way fans come together and interact?" I found it almost funny that I was asked this because it's something I was thinking of while reading it for the first time, so it was kind of perfect. I said "I think social media has completely changed the way people interact with each other in terms of being a fan of something. Now, it's much easier to find people who share your interests than it was before the evolution of social media, and without it, we probably wouldn't see such high rates of fan identification."

Overall, it went much better than expected, but I couldn't be more happy that it's over. I wish any of you who have presentations or other big projects coming up good luck, you've got this!
