Summer Series: Part 4 Finale
Immediately after Jasmyn and I left the concert
venue in Chicago, she asked me if I wanted to go to Tampa for CNCO's
second-to-last show for the entire tour. Of course, I wanted to in theory,
because we just had an absolutely amazing time, but I was very hesitant since
it was during the semester on September 18th.
I gave it a lot of thought, and told Jasmyn not
to get her hopes up, but less than a week before we would have had to leave, I
told her "might as well." We had a pretty rough couple weeks, so why
not have a little fun? The catch was that the only flights available to get us
back home before Tuesday was to spend less than 24-hours in Tampa. Yes. We
pulled an all nighter to see this band. No hotel, and only the necessities we
could fit in our small purses.
We left Columbus at around 8 a.m. Saturday
morning, had a connection in North Carolina, then made our way to Tampa. We
landed in Tampa around 1 p.m., perfect timing to grab lunch at a beautiful
rooftop restaurant called Sal y Mar. At first, we had a hard time finding it
and walked around the block like fools in the almost 90-degree heat, but it was
well worth it as the food was fantastic.
After lunch, we headed straight to the venue.
Luckily, when we got there, there was only a few people in line, which wasn't
too much of a surprise given it was only three in the afternoon. We got our
wristbands and waited patiently. The event promoters opened the doors around 9
p.m. and offered VIP to those who had wristbands, we were also informed that
meet and greet was an option as well, and you can bet everything that we took
them up on that offer.
Once we were inside, we were second to front
row, which was perfectly fine since the girls in front of us were much shorter
than us. I was super nervous to meet the members of CNCO, but it all went
smoothly. Just like the last show, it was amazing. They had actually released a
new song two days before our show and made us the second crowd to hear the song
live!
After the show, our friend from Miami drove us
to the airport, and we fought sleep in the airport until 4 a.m. when TSA opened
for the day. Our flight left at 5 a.m., and we were back in Ohio by 1 p.m. And
that's the story of how Jasmyn and I pulled an all-nighter in an airport and
ended up being awake for over 36 hours. Would I do it again? Short answer, yes.
I hope you enjoyed my Summer Series!
That is a awesome travel trip. Sounds like you had a great time even if you didn't sleep haha. I remember when I got stuck in Miami Airport and slept on the airport floor for like a few hours before I could get on my flight. I don't know how you didn't sleep on the plane I wouldn't have been able to do that.
