A New Family Member!

Saturday night, I was on the phone with my mom, per usual, when she told me out of the blue that we were getting a dog. I was obviously very shocked; we haven't had a dog since I was about 4 years old. We have always been a cat family, and we currently have a 12-year-old cat who I love more than anything who has never really dealt with a dog. 

I was very apprehensive at first because of the above reasons, plus my mom works a lot and my stepdad has heart issues, I was worried about him overexerting himself to keep up with a dog, but he's 11 years old, so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. I'm still quite nervous about how the cat and dog will react with each other, especially with both of them being old. But I am very happy that we got him out of his previous situation. Before, he was living in a garage, almost always in a cage. Now, he'll be able to sleep wherever he wants and always be loved.

My mom is super excited about the new dog because he is a miniature Schnauzer, and she had one named Shannon when she was little. She would always talk about Shannon whenever we'd see another miniature schnauzer or whenever we talked about dogs in general

Blog, meet Bentley, our new member of the family.  I haven't met him yet, but I'm excited to hopefully meet him this weekend!
