Halloween Festivities

 This Halloween weekend was definitely one to remember. Starting off with Friday, Student Planning Committee (SPC) and Latino Student Union (LSU) held a joint event with cider and donuts, along with a haunted trail walk by SPC, and pumpkin painting by LSU. My roommate Jasmyn being the president of LSU meant that I was her helping hand for the night. Overall, I'd say the event was a success. Although it was absolutely freezing standing outside for three hours, we ended up getting rid of all of our 30 pumpkins. The cider and donuts were also fantastic. 

Saturday, my roommates and I had a small get-together with a few friends for Halloween. The few days before, Jasmyn and I decorated our hearts out. We made a spider web out of streamers on our living room ceiling, which ended up looking really cool, I wish I had taken a picture. Overall, the party was a success. we all had a great time, and I was super proud of the makeup I did on myself. 

Sunday, Jasmyn made homemade waffles for breakfast while I took down our decorations. Later, my parents came to pick me up and take me back home since my car is in the shop. We have a tradition that started when we moved to our new house in 2019, that every Halloween, my stepdad and I carve pumpkins together. Of course, we couldn't break the tradition, so they came to get me. We ended up not having much time to carve pumpkins, so we painted them instead. We were still able to get our annual Halloween picture, so all was well. The other main objective of the short trip home was to meet our new dog, Bentley. He's super sweet and we got along instantly. It' going to take a while for my cat to warm up to him, but I'm sure it'll come with time.
